In this book Saggi sulla teoria della letteratura (“Essays on the Theory of Literature”) Enza Biagini puts in play her rich theoretical background and a vast knowledge of texts and authors to deal with some fundamental problems concerning literature, its status, its metamorphoses and its being necessary. Following modern paths, she leads the readers on the traces of different genres and situations difficult to define (the essay-writing, the unfinished ...), of 'temporary' themes always on the point of becoming something else (the nocturnal, the relationship between text and image. ..). The works revolve around the exergues and the definitions of the dictionaries: a whole world of suggestions and reasoning that the author finely brings not only to the field of theory, but also to the world of the Italian and French narrative.

In questo libro di Saggi sulla teoria della letteratura Enza Biagini affronta con un ricco bagaglio teorico e una vasta conoscenza di testi ed autori alcuni problemi fondamenta- li e continuamente ritornanti quando ci si interroga sulla letteratura, sul suo statuto, sulle sue metamorfosi, sulla sua necessità. Seguendo percorsi di grande modernità ci conduce sulle tracce di generi e situazioni dalla difficile definizione (la saggistica, il non finito ... ), di temi sempre sul punto di diveni- re qualcosa d'altro (il notturno, il rapporto tra testo e immagi- ne ... ). Intorno alle opere a dominare sono le soglie, costituite dagli esergo, dalle definizioni dei dizionari: tutto un mondo di suggestioni e ragionamento che l'autrice muove con grande maestria non solo nel campo della teoria, ma della narrativa italiana e francese. è professore emerito dell'Università di Firenze dove ha insegnato Teoria della letteratura e Storia della critica letteraria. Tra i suoi studi teorici si ricordano Letteratura e motivazione (Bulzoni, 1998), Teorie critiche del Novecento. Antologia di testi (Carocci, 2001, 2013) e le monografie Simone de Beauvoir (La Nuova Italia, 1982), Introduzione a Cesare Beccaria (Laterza, 1992). Ha tradotto Les bouches inutiles di Simone de Beauvoir (Le Lettere, 2009) e curato, di Angela Bianchini, I luoghi della memoria. Tre interviste (Bulzoni, 2011).

This interdisciplinary book brings into dialogue research on how different fluids and bodies of water are mobilised as liquid ecologies in the arts in Latin America and the Caribbean. Examining the visual arts, including multimedia installations, performance, photography and film, the chapters place diverse fluids and systems of flow in art historical, ecocritical and cultural analytical contexts. The essays collected in this volume apply an interdisciplinary approach to explore aspects of the relationship between animal and human in late antiquity. With a focus on ways that anthropozoological connections were defined in the emergent Christian religious discourse of the epoch, the authors contribute to our understanding of a thematic area largely neglected in previous research. Zu den Forschungstrends der jüngeren Vergangenheit zählt ohne Zweifel die kulturwissenschaftliche Untersuchung von Tier-Mensch-Beziehungen, doch werden Ansätze aus den Human-Animal Studies (HAS) in den Altertumswissenschaften - und hier insbesondere für den Bereich der sogenannten "Spätantike" - vergleichsweise selten fruchtbar gemacht. Aus philologisch-historischer Perspektive helfen die Beiträge des vorliegenden Bandes dabei, diese zu diagnostizierende Unausgewogenheit der chronologischen Fokussierung zu überwinden. Von den ersten Jahrhunderten bis zur Schwelle des Mittelalters bietet der Band Einblicke in das komplexe Verhältnis von Tier und Mensch und geht dabei der facettenreichen Frage nach, wo und auf welche Weise anthropozoologische Aspekte in der zunehmend christlich werdenden spätantiken Welt zum Gegenstand der Reflexion werden konnten.
